Arcade GamesPICO Activity Plan: Golf Course Game BUILDING A Interactive Golf Course
1: Stuff you need BEFORE the lesson: The group of students will be making this course as a team Make sure every computer has the PICO program. Make sure there is enough cardboard to build the skee-ball structure.. Make sure each group has a complete PICO kit
2: Opening Concepts: Intro to PICO. Explain what we will be doing today: Making the Golf Course game Show sensors that will be used from the PICO kits. Explain PICO sensors. Show what materials are needed to make the game.
3: Focus of the Lesson: The focus of this lesson is to learn how to make things happen when a sensor is triggered while making a fun game.
4: Teaching: 1: Break the group into teams...working specifically on the parts of the golf course: 1) Putter 2: Let them know where the sensors would go. 3: Teach how to program the game in PICO with step by step directions.
5: Wrap up: 1: Make sure everyone has cleaned up their area. Programs saved and closed, scrap cardboard thrown away. 2: Circle up: Ask various people questions: What are sensors? What can you do with them? What did they learn?
If everyone finishes early, have additional discussion – get feedback. What can be improved? What could we do to make it more fun? |

Hi Donna from Roslindale, I am having a hard time visualizing what the cardboard skeeball structure would look like and what is holding it together tape? glue? other? What age is this for? Will there be a picture?
