Group work with Arduino in Dow Room with Ed. Some sort of prototype is created, then subsequently destroyed. No photo documentation is made.  Also Logo is created by Shikari, who is assisting the group (but technically is not in the group). Also, also the sketch becomes a picture thanks to gimp. However the title for the picture remains "Sketch". Break is proceeded by all members of the group, excluding Shikari. She then embarks on a grand task, to compose a daily progress report. Which she does and succeeds. Post break, several members ventured to BYF to do paper work, leaving the remaining comrades short staffed. The following dawn will be our first day at Roslindale. Therefore we shall move our mission there and hopefully increase productivity.

Today was very fun and progressive, Maynard helped with researching for the ac and dc. We found some Chive seeds to grow and soil so that we can start our miniature garden.

We will be going to take a tour in two Community Centers in Jamaica Plain to check if the computer have the programs like Gimp, Scratch and Pico for when we teach.

  • Research temperature sensor, and how it functions.
  • Make diagram/ Plan (with measurements) for shop bot. Box is going to be cut in fablab, when we visit setc, also water storage.
  • Research resources for materials.
  • Go to ed to obtain temperature sensors, and ask Collin to help us make the peristaltic pump.

Today we are at SETC to work further on the project mostly the pump. we have to reshape the majority of it and have come to the decision to use acrylic for the majority, and also Lego pieces will be incorporated. this is different from our initial idea of the design

Things we need to obtain or make or already have:

  1. Bucket
  2. Nails
  3. Obtain arduino
  4. making a humidity sensor
  5. making temperature sensor
  6. need to make changes for the peristaltic pump
  7. find the screws to build the peristaltic pump
  8. build the peristaltic pump
  9. find a motor
  10. resistor ( i think it's misplaced)

in our third week our group finally managed to not only make the humidity sensor but we also manage to construct the temperature sensor too. however we were not able to program it yet because we didn't have time. But hopefully this week we should able to finish programing it and continue to move on in the project Thursday. Not only that but we were able to construct the prototype of the peristaltic pump, so we actually manage to get a lot of things done. not to mention that our plants are continuing to grow and we can see green vegetation coming from the soil.

Today we went on a trip to Wentworth IT in fenway. We took a tour of the campus which was co-led by our college mentor Ashley. Wentworth Institute of Technology is very interestiing and nourishing college for those interested in a career in tech. We returned and continued to work on the projects.
