Gimp for young students

Lesson One

The following exercise is to get the young student

used to using the Gimp program.

First by learning what tools are available in Gimp.

Second, where are those tools on the interface.

Last how to use the tools.

The first steps;

The goal is to create an effect called cracked face, this is achieved by superinposing an image of

cracked plaster, on a human face. The images are then blended to form a seamless finished effect.

To collect the components for this project; Go to google.com

and search for an image of cracked plaster and a human face, or use your own picture.

1.Copy the cracked picture onto the picture of a person or yourself.

2.Then you go to the layer modes (at the top of the layers dialog box) select multiply.

3.click on the scale tool to make the picture smaller.

4. once the picture is a good size for your picture, place the cracked picture into the place and area

that best fits the face.

5. Go back to Layers mode and select burn.

6.Then go to the eraser tool and select the fuzy ball eraser

Then erase some of the outer shadow

7. Go to colors and pick Hue Saturation, and change the colors to make it look black and white.

8.Then go to colors and choose levels and make the backround dark

9. then select the free select tool, zoom in the picture and make a selection around the eyes, then go

to colors select levels and make the eyes look even whiter, and do the same to the teeth if shown in picture.
