HyperScore-Remix'emHyperscore Activity Plan: Remix Song Remake a song heard off of the internet(youtube).
1: Stuff you need BEFORE the lesson: 1 computer per student. Make sure every computer has hyperscore downloaded on them. Make sure there are headphones at every computer station. Have a method of showing the Intro to the tools used.
2: Opening Concepts: Show example of activity/intro to hyperscore Explain the activity:Remaking song heard off youtube Expalin usage of hyperscore tools. Ask students to tell one way they will use the tools.
3: Focus of the Lesson: The focus of this lesson is remaking a song that they heard to see how well they can catch onto instruments used in that beat.
4: Teaching: 1:Have students create a simple 4-5 note beat. 2: Have everyone choose an intrumental 3: As people who successfully created a simple beat,how they would use those methods they used to recreate their instrumentals. 4: Have people who are finished choosing an intrumental go to listening to it and begin recreating the beat on hyperscore.
5: Wrap up: 1: Make sure everyone has cleaned up their area. Programs saved and closed, headphones neatly put away/chairs pushed in. 2: Circle up: Ask various people questions: Have they ever used program similar to hyperscore? How would people use programs like this? What is the difference between the different colors? What is the sketch Window used for?
If everyone finishes early, have additional discussion – get feedback. What can be improved?What can we do different for next time?What did they like and if they would learn it again?
