Charades

Object of the game:

  • Send one kid outside of the room, and have the rest of the kids decide what kind of technological object they want the sent out kid to be, such as a PS3, Xbox360, Phone, Clock, Radio, Controller, etc.
  • Have the kids come up with hints to give to the person, but dont make it too obvious, so if they are a PS3 you dont want to say "blue-ray discs", "the video game CDs are blue-ray" or "Some People prefer this over the Xbox360", etc.
  • Then when they have enough hints, have the person come back in, and they will have only 3 tries to guess what they are and if they get it right then send out another kid and continue until every one has gone outside or until you think its time to start teaching

Variations:

  • The person that was sent out doesnt have to be ANY piece of technology you can try objects relating to conserving energy/having to do with alternative energy, but for younger kids you should try any piece of technology because they probably wont remember about a solar panel, fuel cell car, wind/ water turbine, etc.

Examples:

If they choose clock you can say:

  • Has 3 hands
  • Its a circle
  • Has 12 numbers
  • Needs batteries

If they choose Radio you can say:

  • Has different stations
  • Needs batteries
  • You can listen to Music
  • Its in cars (Will be kind of obvious if you say that with You can listen to music, but some kids ive had still couldnt tell, so it all depends.)
  • Plays CDs

For PS3: (These might be a bit obvious but some kids have confused it with computer, phone, and Xbox 360.)

  • You can play games
  • You can watch videos
  • you can listen to music
  • you can look at pictures
  • you can talk to people

For Remote:

  • Has buttons
  • Its shaped like a rectangle/square
  • You use your thumb
  • It needs batteries
  • You need to point it
