Call for applicants, poster made, notice on SETC website and other places.

 

March

  • Application deadline for YouthTeachers
  • ~L2TStaff from last year reviews feedback from last year's participants.
  • ~L2TStaff from last year reviews applications and hires ReturningYouthTeachers
  • Hiring interviews scheduled for April vacation

 

April

  • ~L2TStaff meets with ReturningYouthTeachers to discuss direction, changes and plans for this year's program.
  • During April Vacation, Returning Youth Teachers interview applicants for YouthTeachers positions.
  • Late April, candidates informed of hiring decisions.

 

May

  • Wednesday meetings with ~L2TStaff and ReturningYouthTeachers to plan training of new Youth Teachers.
  • Mid May Saturday trainings at MIT Media Lab and SETC for skillbuilding from 11-4

 

June

  • Saturday skillbuilding trainings continue.
  • Wednesday planning sessions continue.

 

July

First 3 weeks, (After July 4th) Summer training, Monday through Thursday 9-3.

  • Increased skillbuilding
  • Public speaking development
  • Identify and work in groups on Community Issues Project
  • Develop lessons to teach at the Community Centers
  • Use wiki, Flickr, Youtube and Facebook to document lessons, techniques and projects.
